England U16 Squad for Slovakia Selected

Head Coach Alan Keane has selected a squad of twelve England Under-16s for the upcoming Pezinok 2014 Slovakia Basketball Association tournament in Slovakia which begins on Friday.

The tournament will serve as further preparation for the Division B European Championships this summer, in Strumica from 20-30th August 2014.

Peckham Pride, recent Under-16 National Cup and Under-15 National Title winners, feature no less than three players in the squad, with point guards Kemar Hawes (u16 Cup MVP) and Thai Segwai-Lodge (U15 MVP) and big man Sam Japhet-Mathias (recent Jordan Brand Classic international tour invitee) all selected.

Sharp-shooting Notts Nova guard Luke Mitchell will provide support on the perimeter, along with Carl Wheatle (Jordan Brand Classic International Tour invitee) on the wing, who signed with Italian side Angelico Biella at the beginning of the season. Wheatle’s former teammate from London Greenhouse Pioneers will also make the trip.

Tolu Babalola and Henri Langton will provide support on the inside, whilst George Pool, John Okafor and Christopher Jack, a Luxembourg-based player, will also make the trip.
