Sheffield Hatters have since withdrawn from the league for the upcoming season, but you can still support the club in its fundraising efforts – see further below.

Meanwhile, Essex Rebels and Sevenoaks Suns have become the latest teams to appeal to the public for financial help in order to help secure their futures as uncertainty continues around the sport.

The Suns have been the league’s most successful team in recent years and have set a target of £10,000 with a wide-range of rewards available to donators.

WBBL clubs are looking for help to secure their futures as they aim to raise funds amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

The 2019-20 season was cut short in March following the conclusion of the Trophy and some teams stressed concerns about their immediate future in the sport.

Newcastle Eagles set up their crowdfunding page earlier this summer and raised over £11,000 in a short period of time as they received a wealth of support from the North-East and beyond.

Other clubs have followed suit, too, with Sheffield Hatters – formed in 1961 – featuring in the national media regarding their current plight.

The Hatters are in the early days of their crowdfunding effort with an aim of reaching £10,000

Meanwhile, Cardiff Met Archers – the only Welsh representative in either the BBL and WBBL – are currently just over 30% towards reaching their target of £5,000 with a variety of rewards on offer from game tickets to signed shirts and sponsorship opportunities.

The club recently announced Great Britain legend Stef Collins would continue her role as head coach for the upcoming campaign.
