Great Britain Senior Men’s Alasdair Fraser has signed a deal in his native Scotland with BBL side Glasgow Rocks.
The 22-year-old joins from German Pro-A side Gotha Rockets where he averaged 12.5 points per game last season in his first season as a pro.
Fraser was called up to the GB side this summer but was forced to withdraw from the squad due to a knee injury.
Glasgow were interested in signing Fraser last summer but the 6’7″ forward opted to go to Germany following a spell in the NCAA at the University of Maine. And now, Player Coach Sterling Davis is pleased to have got his man.
“Ali (Fraser) is a player that I have courted ever since he left school and decided to start a professional career,” he said. “His attitude and work ethic were attributes that really topped off his skill level on the floor. He runs the floor exceptionally well and has good moves on the block all the way out to 3 point range. For us to be able to add a player of his calibre to our roster puts us in a good place to start the season.”
Fraser joins fellow Scottish and GB internationals Kieron Achara and Gareth Murray in playing for the Rocks in recent seasons. He’s the 6th confirmed summer recruit for Davis’ side with American trio Tommy Freeman, Jajuan Smith and Paul Egwuonwu joined by Scots Danny Huffor and Jonny Bunyan.
