
The hosts start their campaign against Russia in what will be their first appearance in the Olympic men’s basketball tournament since 1948.
Sullivan – who has agreed a new deal with Leicester Riders – has been part of the British Basketball programme since its inception in 2006 and said: “I’m extremely excited about taking part in these Olympics.
“To be here in London where I grew up is something special to me,†he said.
“I’ve been here since the start when we began working towards this and I can’t wait for the Games to start.
“I’ve got family coming and to play in front of them – there’s nothing more special than this.â€
And assistant coach Nick Nurse added: “This is the best team we’ve ever had and I think it’s time for us to punch through. We’ll have the home fans and with the experience we’ve been through we’ll work to punch our way through somehow.â€
