Ball Out 3×3 will be returning this weekend for the second edition of the UK’s largest 3×3 tournament, where they will once again produce the UK’s representative on the FIBA 3×3 World Tour.
This year’s qualifiers will start in London on July 1 at Ducketts Common (Turnpike Lane) and finish with the final at Turnpike Lane on August 12 and for the first time has restricted entry to UK-based teams only.
The winner of the Elite Men’s division will be flown to Hungary at end of August to take part on the FIBA 3×3 World Tour against the best 3×3 teams on the planet for a chance to win $40,000. If they win Hungary they will earn a wild card entry to compete on other World Tour events and be in with a chance of winning half a million dollars ($500,000) across the seven events.
“This summer will be the biggest Ball Out 3×3 event so far and it is going to be an exciting summer,” Ball Out 3×3 Organiser Julius Joseph commented.
“We have restricted entry to UK residents so we can grow 3×3 basketball across the nation. Last year we had a number of stacked foreign teams flying over to compete in order to gain entry to the FIBA 3×3 World Tour. Hopefully our domestic ballers understand the amazing opportunity to compete on the 3x3WT by winning the Ball Out 3×3 competition in the Elite Men’s Division.”
Three qualifiers will take place, two in London at Ducketts Common (Turnpike Lane) and one in the Midlands at the University of Wolverhampton, in which teams must reach the semi-final round in order to qualify for the finals on August 12.
Different categories include Elite Men, Men, Women, Under-18 Men, Under-18 Women and Under-16 Boys,
Entry price for Adult teams is £20, whilst for Under-18 teams it is £10 – all entrants will receive a free t-shirt.
