After a year hiatus, we’re pleased to announce the fourth Hoopsfix All Star Classic, taking place on Saturday June 2nd at Brixton Recreation Centre in South London (click here for tickets).
The one day showcase of British basketball talent returns, aiming to regain momentum after three previous events which sold out in advance and put Great Britain’s future stars on the floor at the same time.
The format has been tweaked; the Under-19 Men’s game switches to graduating seniors (Class of 2018), so for many will be their final game on home soil before departing overseas, meanwhile, what was the Under-17 game, will now be for the ‘best of the rest’; underclassmen, who have at least one more year left before graduating (Class of 2019 or younger).
With the backing of a group of eleven supporters; Molten, LBTV – livebasketball.tv, BETTER, UELSports, Sportserve Ltd, Hardwood Ventures, 5or6, Basketball Hall of Fame Belfast Classic, Let Me Play, Always Ballin, Mason, and Wilkie TV, we are going to once again put on a day to remember that will tip off the summer in the perfect way.
On the morning of the event, as always, there will be a kids clinic for local London youth, before walkthroughs for all teams.
At 1pm the doors will open to the public, as the Underclassmen will suit up in an exhibition tipping off at 2pm to show just how much talent we have coming through. There will be no rest, as at 4pm the top graduating Seniors will take to the floor, in what will be the largest collection of elite young talent seen in the UK in one place in recent memory.
Rosters and full coaching lineups will be released in the coming weeks, with further announcements regarding sponsors and partners to be added.
Once again, there are limited tickets, and if previous years are anything to go by, they will be gone soon! None will be available on the door, so all we can say is to buy early. Every year we are inundated with requests after we have sold out – so consider this a pre-warning; do not wait on it!
Due to Health & Safety, we have a maximum capacity in the gym which we physically are not allowed to go over or we get shut down. We’ll say it again – BOOK NOW to avoid disappointment!
This is a 100% not-for-profit event – with all proceeds going to the Hoopsfix Foundation – to help fund the Classic along with other projects we have planned – not only will you get a great day of basketball entertainment, but you’ll be giving back to the game!
Buy your tickets direct from Ticket Tailor or tell people to to visit Hoopsfixallstarclassic.com (you can also join the Facebook event for notifications here).
Finally, we’re going to need all of your support on this to make the day reach its potential – please spread the word (using the hashtag #HASC18 – click here to tweet your support now!) – we have a number of freebies to be given away to those that make the most noise about it which will be announced shortly.
If you run a website, or any sort of media outlet and want to help let people know about the basketball talent that exists in the UK, please let us know. Email [email protected] with questions or for media accreditation requests on the day.
See you on the 2nd!
