Robert Gilchrist is heading to Greece this season after joining newly promoted A2 side Peristeri GS Athens.
The 24-year-old impressed on his GB Senior debut in the summer after producing a solid display in the friendly against New Zealand. Gilchrist also starred in GB’s only win in three internationals with a double-double in the victory over Portugal.
Gilchrist spent his rookie season in Germany this past term in the Pro-B division with Karlsruhe. In 25 games, the 6’7″ forward averaged 6.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
The former Florida State graduate will look to have an even bigger role on his team this year as Peristeri GS Athens look to impose themselves in the Greek second division. Last season, they achieved promotion from the B League.
