Ryan Richards Wins Championship with BC Vienna

Ryan Richards has capped his season with BC Zepter Vienna by winning a championship in Austria.

Vienna dispatched of Oberwart 3-2 in the best of five game A Bundesliga series, where the 7’0″ Richards averaged 12 points and 5 rebounds per game, with his best outing in a Game 3 loss, as he finished with 18 points, and 6 rebounds on 6/8 shooting.

It was the semi-finals where the former GB international really shined, however. In another series that went five games, Richards dominated Kapfenberg, averaging 22.6 points and 6.2 points on 57% shooting.

The San Antonio Spurs’ 2010 second round draft pick tied his season high scoring output in Game 3, dropping 33 points, whilst grabbing a season-high 13 rebounds on 13/22 shooting (7/10 at the line), whilst in the Game 5 clincher, a 79-68 victory, he had 31 and 9 on 12/17 shooting.

Richards joined BC Vienna midway through the season, having started the season with Polish side Asseco Prokom.

In 20 appearances with Vienna, the 1991 born talent finished with averages of 16.7 points and 5.4 rebounds on 48.2% shooting (54.5% inside the arc).
