Marc Steutel’s Great Britain Senior Men’s National Team will begin their campaign to qualify for the FIBA 2027 World Cup in Qatar with a formidable test against Lithuania at the Copper Box Arena in London on Thursday, November 27, with tickets on sale now (buy here).
The fixture will serve as a rematch of GB’s clash with Lithuania at EuroBasket earlier this year, from which the visitors – ranked ninth in the Nike Men’s World Rankings – emerged victorious.
Coach Steutel’s side will be looking to avenge that defeat and commence their crucial qualifying campaign with victory in front of what is expected to be a largely Lithuanian crowd.
GB will then travel to Iceland to face the hosts on Sunday, November 30 in the second and final game of the window.
Great Britain Men’s National Team and Newcastle Eagles Head Coach Marc Steutel said:
“We’re really excited to be playing at the Copper Box again and hoping that we can put on an excellent performance in front of our incredible fans, who stay with us no matter what.
“The last time out at the Copper Box, the atmosphere was electric and we hope we can recreate the same again whilst showing a performance full of pride and passion that our fans can be proud of.”
Great Britain are joined in their First Qualifying Round pool by Lithuania, Italy and Iceland, and will face each opponent home and away across three windows between now and summer 2026.
The top three teams in the pool will advance to the Second Qualifying Round, which begins in August 2026, with results from the First Round carrying over – meaning every point and every win matters as GB embark on their journey to make National Team history by qualifying for the World Cup for the first time.
Tickets for the Lithuania game are available now via Ticketmaster.
