Avenida’s only defeat came in the regular season was a one-point loss against Valencia – who also finished with a 29-1 record – with their two-point victory earlier in the season securing the decisive head-to-head going into the playoffs.
The number-one seeds recorded 2-0 wins in their opening two series before coming back from 0-1 down to overcome the EuroCup Women champions.
Samuelson previously won the Spanish Cup – alongside Temi Fagbenle – 12 months ago, but the season was curtailed shortly after due to the coronavirus pandemic at a time when Avenida led the league standings with a 19-3 record.
The 25-year-old returned for a second season in Salamanca having been joined by younger sister, Katie Lou Samuelson.
Avenida also finished as runners-up to UMMC Ekaterinburg in EuroLeague Women, last month.
