Fagbenle Having Dominant Start for 7-0 Trojans

Great Britain Senior Women’s star Temi Fagbenle is enjoying a dominant start to the season as she has led her USC Trojans to a 7-0 record so far.

The Women of Troy are off their best start since 1984-85, when USC opened up 10-0, and Fagbenle has been instrumental to their success.

Fagbenle is averaging 13.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks on 53% shooting from the field, and picked up the USC Women’s Student-Athlete of the Week after her impressive performance at the Naismith Hall of Fame Challenge

On the road in Spokane, Wash., Fagbenle scored 20 points in an overtime victory over West Virginia, and then led the Trojans with 21 points and four blocked shots in a 60-56 win over host Gonzaga.

In the finale against Iona, Fagbenle registered her third straight double-digit game with 16 points as the Trojans continued their hot start to the season with the 76-56 victory at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut.

The 2012 Olympian has one season of eligibility at USC, having completed her undergraduate degree in anthropology at Harvard before heading to USC for graduate school.
