MIROTIC IN, IBAKA OUT FOR SPAIN

Nikola Mirotic has been included in Spain’s EuroBasket squad, ahead of Serge Ibaka.

The Chicago Bulls forward has been handed the naturalised slot ahead of his Oklahoma City Thunder counterpart by returning coach Sergio Scariolo in a 17-man initial group for training camp.

It includes both the Gasol brothers, Pau and Marc, as well as five players from Euroleague champions Real Madrid.

Guards: Sergio Llull (Real Madrid), Sergio Rodríguez (Real Madrid), Guillem Vives (Valencia), Quino Colom (Bilbao)

Forwards: Rudy Fernández (Real Madrid), Fernando San Emeterio (Baskonia), Pau Ribas (Valencia Basket), Dani Díez (Gipuzkoa), Álex Abrines (FC Barcelona), Xavi Rabaseda (Estudiantes).

Centres: Pau Gasol (Chicago Bulls), Marc Gasol (Memphis Grizzlies), Nikola Mirotic (Chicago Bulls), Víctor Claver (Khimkhi Moscow), Felipe Reyes (Real Madrid), Willy Hernangómez (Sevilla), Pablo Aguilar (Valencia)

Meanwhile NBA quartet Danilo Gallinari, Marco Belinelli, Andrea Bargani and Luigi Datome are all in Italy’s 16-man preliminary roster, unveiled by head coach Simone Pianigiani.
