In Germany, Myles Hesson completed the regular season with Bremerhaven, who finished with a 10-24 record in 15th place. The GB forward scored six points in a final 99-69 home defeat, before showing out with an 18-point display against EuroLeague opposition ALBA as his side were beaten 87-74. Hesson averaged 12.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game with a 41.9% 3-point success rate, whilst shooting 122-156 from the free throw line, and picked up the Syd Lipski International Award in the annual BJA awards.
Ovie Soko scored 7 points in a 79-61 defeat for Boulazac (20-11) as the Pro-B regular season draws to a close. In NM1, Tafari Toney recorded a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds, but it was to no avail as Sorgues (16-15) fell to an 89-82 home loss. GB veteran Eric Boateng also had a double-double after coming up with 11 points and 10 boards as well as two assists and two steals in an 83-74 win for Mulhouse (18-13) at the weekend.
Ogo Adegboye scored 7 points and dished out four assists as Aris (15-10) fell to a 72-56 defeat at home to Panithanikos in midweek. At the weekend, the GB guard had contributed 12 points to his side’s 81-74 win on the road. Elsewhere, Pops Mensah-Bonsu finished with 6 points and 9 rebounds as AEK Athens (14-11) suffered back-to-back defeats, while Justin Robinson scored 7 points in a 77-72 defeat for Kolossos (13-12) on the road, before scoring 9 points in an 84-80 victory this past weekend.
Dan Clark put a defender on a poster in Liga Endesa action a few weeks back, after scoring 17 points in a victory for Fuenlabrada. In the LEB Gold playoffs, Aaron Geramipoor made his only FG attempt in the quarter-final series opener as Ourense won 86-84, before advancing to the semi-finals with an 81-77 win on the road. Geramipoor scored 5 points off the bench in 9 minutes in the Game 2 victory.
In the Italian LNP Gold Playoffs, Kyle Johnson scored 9 points in a Game 2 defeat for Angelico Biella, before scoring six in the deciding victory as his recently new side advanced to the quarter-finals. They now find themselves 2-0 down in the last eight with Johnson contributing a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds in the series opener.
For Nigel van Oostrum, it was playoffs disappointment in the Netherlands. The rookie guard had 8 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in a heavy 101-66 series opening defeat for Leeuwarden, before they fell to a further 87-73 defeat, in which van Oostrum played 39 minutes and finished with 5 points, four assists and four steals.
