Former GB under-20 star Ryan Richards produced a 28 point haul to help his new side Kormend defeat Bulgarian runners-up Lukoil Academic 80-75 in their Group opener in thee EuroChallenge.
The 23-year-old amassed 16 points in the first half before going on to finish with a team-high total of 28 on 10-20 shooting from the field whilst collecting 7 rebounds.
Richards has quickly found his feet for the Hungarians having also led them to a first league win at the weekend after scoring 19 points in what was only his second game for the club following his release from Zepter Vienna.
Kormend will now have a run of three home games in the third-tier European competition with Romanian side Energia Rovinari and Tartu Rock from Estonia also in Group B.
