The new NBA season has begun and Luol Deng has made a winning start with his new side as Miami Heat (3-0) have put the loss of LeBron behind them early on. The Brit has opened up with 12, 15 and 18 points in wins over Washington, Philadelphia and Toronto. Meanwhile, Joel Freeland missed Portland’s latest game having started with six minutes in each of the Trail Blazers (1-2) opening two games without scoring as of yet.

GB forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning made his debut for Soles de Mexicali in Mexico with 14 points in an 87-78 loss before following that up with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists to help his new side beat Titanicos 101-96. In Ukraine, Ashley Hamilton produced another impressive display to help Cherkasy (4-1) to a 77-72 win with 16 points along with four assists.

Ryan Richards helped his new side Kormend (1-4) to their first win after an equal game-high haul of 19 points from the start in the 72-69 victory. Meanwhile, Myles Hesson had another solid display scoring 9 points as Bremerhaven (4-3) picked up a 76-68 win against Crailsheim to move up the Beko-BBL table.

In Germany’s Pro-B, Orlan Jackman was one board away from a double-double after 11 points and 9 rebounds during a 77-55 win for Iserlohn over Wuzerburg in a clash at the top of the table. Rob Gilchrist collected 12 boards to accompany 5 points as Karlsruhe (3-3) earned a 94-81 win over the weekend. Clayfell Harris didn’t take a single shot during a 77-61 win for Itzehoe (3-3) but still played an important role with 9 rebounds for his team.

Dan Clark suffered another loss with Fuenlabrada (1-4) despite his display of 11 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in the 86-79 defeat.

Mo Soluade made his EuroLeague debut with Unicaja Malaga after featuring in 34 seconds before returning to feeder side Clinicas Rincon (0-5) and adding 9 points in their 5th straight loss in LEB Gold. Ben Allison had 5 points and 4 rebounds from the bench but Ourense (2-3) slipped to a third consecutive defeat while Joe Hart had a rest week with Penas Huesca (1-3).

In Spain’s third division LEB Silver, Ben Mockford was absent in a 59-54 win for Caceres (4-1) against the winless Canarias (0-5). Aaron Geramipoor scored 16 points in the defeat while Tom Ward shot 0-5 from the field in 16 minutes of action.

Ogo Adegboye helped Aris (3-0) remain undefeated in the Greek A-1 league after leading his team in scoring with 17 points in 21 minutes from the bench.

Nigel van Oostrum saw 12 minutes for Den Helder (3-3) as they were beaten 84-66 with the rookie adding a rebound and two assists. In Japan, the losing run for Yokohama (3-7) continued with two further defeats against Akita at the weekend with Dzaflo Larkai contributing 9pts/9rbs in the first loss before a huge 26 points and 13 rebounds on Sunday.

Liam Potter helped Danish side Naestved (3-2) defeat Horsholm on Wednesday after shooting 5-5 from the field for 12 points along with 7 rebounds in the slender 84-82 success. Ovie Soko‘s double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds led Boulazac (3-1) continue their winning streak in France’s Pro-B with an 87-80 victory.

In NM1, Gareth Murray produced a 21 point haul for Challans (4-3) but it wasn’t enough to stop his side falling to an 81-76 loss. Shane Walker scored 15 points from the bench as Lourdes (4-1) lost their first game of the season, going down 111-101 against Chartes. Sorgues (3-4) defeated joint leaders Vichy 91-77 as Tafari Toney came up with the goods with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Rob Marsden scored 3 points in 8 minutes during an 81-76 defeat for Cognac (2-4).

Also during the week, Devon van Oostrum saw his loan spell at KK Cibona come to an end while rookie centre Fahro Alihodzic was released by Hungarian side Kaposari.
