There were just four games played in the latest week’s action in the BUCS Premier divisions with Northumbria and East London maintaining their perfect starts.

Leeds Beckett Carnegie collected their first win with the prized scalp of Loughborough after their 67-64 success. American Ricky Fetske top scored with 18 points while Branimir Mikulic and Paul Holland both added 11 points apiece. For the visitors, Levi Noel produced a game-high 24 points with Conner Washington and Barry Lamble adding 11 and 10 points respectively.

Leeds Head Coach Matt Newby was pleased with his side’s win:

“The games between ourselves and Loughborough over the years consistently have been played with respect but full of fire,” he added. “This was a tough outing and Loughborough I feel are one of the top teams in the 2014-15 competition. It was a good day at the office.”

Northumbria were able to take sole control of top spot as they made it three wins out of three with a 102-91 win on the road against Sheffield Hallam. Prolific BBL duo Scott Martin and Darius Defoe impressed with 27 points each while Jack Thompson added 16 points and there were 11 apiece for Lewis Champion and Mick DiStasio.

In the South Division, East London maintained their perfect start with a comfortable 84-42 win over Oxford. Lukas Volskis and Blayne Freckleton led the way with 13 points each while Aaron Smith and Luke Winegarner also reached double figures with 10 points personal. (Full report here)

The final game saw London South Bank record a 77-66 win on the road at UCL to pick up their first victory of the campaign.
