BBL Signs Retail Deal with Sports Direct

In the latest commercial partnership announced by the BBL, SportsDirect will begin retailing official Spalding BBL Apparel from November this year.

The move follows the league inking a 5 year kit deal with Spalding in April.

All club vests will be available for purchase through the SportsDirect website with plans to extend to selected stores in the New Year.

“The appointment of an Official Retailer was always going to be a natural next step on from the unification of the League’s Apparel provision under the Spalding brand,” said the league’s Commercial Director David Leyden Dunbar.

“Working with Spalding we’ve been able to create a far more cohesive look and style across the whole league and forging a partnership with SportsDirect.com will allow us to reach an entirely new audience with our products.

“It’s a huge step forward for the League and my view was always that if we were going to do it the important thing was to work hand in hand with the biggest and best UK brand”.

Sportsdirect.com, founded in 1982, has grown to become the UK’s number one sports retailer with over 400 stores across the country.
