The British Basketball League has signed a multi-year deal with Spalding which will see every club wearing Spalding apparel from next season.
The five year deal was orchestrated by David Leyden Dunbar, the newly appointed BBL Commercial Director, who says there is more to come:
“Since taking up the post during October of last year, my intention has always been to significantly alter the commercial landscape of the BBL and I’m pleased to confirm that our new partnership with Spalding is just the first in a series of announcements that we’ll be making as momentum builds towards the start of the new season in September.”
BBL Chairman Paul Blake underlined the significance of the arrangement, which will also give BBL clubs an opportunity to offer replica apparel to fans, saying:
“Having all of our member clubs playing in Spalding apparel will re-enforce that professional edge and visually exude the uniformity and collective desire of the clubs and the league to continue developing and enhancing our product for fans.”
It’s another positive step forward to the league, which will hold its playoff final this Sunday in front of an 8,500 sell out crowd at Wembley Arena.
