Lauren Thomas-Johnson and Steph Gandy have exited the Great Britain women’s squad.
The pair have been omitted from the 12-strong group that will travel to Turkey this week for three friendly internationals, before heading onward to the Czech Republic.
While a final roster will be submitted to the British Olympic Association for formal ratification later this month, the revised line-up will, bar injury, form GB’s roster at London 2012.
It means that Jeneya Wade-Fray has earned a spot ahead of Thomas-Johnson in a move that will surprise some.
Gandy, who did not play against Canada in Edinburgh last weekend, was a long shot to oust Nat Stafford in the race for the side’s only naturalised spot.
