Luol Deng and the Chicago Bulls kept their NBA Playoffs dream alive on Tuesday night with a 77-69 win at home against the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Bulls trailed the best-of-seven series 3-1 and were facing a first round elimination but Deng’s 24 points and eight rebounds helped force a Game 6 between the two teams which will take place in Philadelphia on Thursday.
After averaging just eight points in the previous three games as he struggles with a wrist injury, Deng went 10/19 from the floor, including 4/5 from three point range, adding 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks.
The victory was the first for the Bulls since league MVP Derrick Rose went down with an ACL tear in Game 1 of the series.
Without Rose, as well as an injury to Joakim Noah, analysts consider the Bulls’ championship dreams over – leaving many Great Britain fans hoping for an early Chicago exit from the playoffs to give Luol a chance to rest before the Olympics. He has recently said he has no intentions of having surgery.
