Devan Bailey Leaves CCSU For Pro Career

Devan Bailey

Great Britain point guard Devan Bailey has left Central Connecticut State University two years early to focus on a professional career.

Bailey, who just finished his sophomore year at the NCAA Division 1 school where he averaged 2.7 points and 2.5 assists in 26 minutes per outing, has returned to England this summer after his call up to the GB Senior Men’s squad for the second consecuctive year, and aquired an agent.

Talking to Alec Doyle of the Chester Chronical, the 6’2″ defensive stopper said:

“I didn’t know why I was in college really. I had a good season at Central just gone but it was a little tough to get game time with so many guards there.

“Players want to play and I want to make this work now.”

Bailey appears to be looking at options in both Europe and the British Basketball league. He continued;

“My agent said most British Basketball League clubs are not really active in making signings until August so things will be quiet, so at least I have some time and some games before then.

“I already have Team GB on my CV as well which is great so hopefully I’ll be able to attract some interest from Europe or the BBL.”
