Former Reading Rocket Danny Carter will return to the UK next week, as his school Stony Brook make the trip across the pond for a European tour.
The 6’9″, 225lb senior headed stateside for the 2008/09 season after being awarded a full scholarship to the NCAA Division 1 school, where he started 28 of 32 games last season.
And make no mistake about it, the 2007 England Under-18 Player of the Year is looking forward to the prospect of playing in his home country:
“Me and all the guys are so excited about coming on this tour. For me personally I get to play in-front of the home crowd and everyone that helped me get to this stage of my basketball career so far.
“It’s something I never thought could have happened when I first moved to the states and I’m real lucky to be in the situation I am now.”
The Seawolves will tip off the tour in Dublin, Ireland, before arriving in England on August 15, taking on a Midnight Madness select team on Aug. 17 at Kingston College Arena and the Milton Keynes Lions on Aug. 18 at MK Lions Arena.
They will then head on to Paris for further exhibition games. The Seawolves return 12 lettermen from last season’s team that advanced to the America East Championship final for the first time in program history.
Tickets for the Milton Keynes game (7.30pm tip), cost £8 and are available on the door, or from the MK Lions website store, whilst tickets for the Midnight Madness game (6pm tip) cost £5 for adults, £2.50 for children and are available on the Midnight Madness website (and I assume on the door as well).
You can find more information about the full tour on Stony Brook’s official website.
