EXCLUSIVE: English Universities ’10/11 Roster

Hoopsfix can exclusively reveal the universities team that will be representing England in the BUCS Basketball Home Nations tournament at the University of Ulster, Belfast, next week from 11th-14th April 2011.

The tournament will feature all 4 Home Nations of Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales, with defending champions England being heavy favourites.

Head Coach Steve Vear, speaking exclusively to Hoopsfix about the selection, said:

“The amount of talent to choose from this year was huge, so it was not an easy task when selecting the team! I am really looking forward to the tournament in Ireland, we have selected a great bunch of guys who can really get up and down the floor so we will play a fast tempo game which suits my style of coaching. The tournament is a great way for University players to end their long season of combining playing ball and studying to now compete in an all-star type team. We will therefore ensure to have a lot of fun but at the same time have the mentality of keeping the tradition of England retaining the championship.”

The roster, chosen from players that were available for the dates of the tournament and selected through scouting as opposed to trials like last year, is as follows:
