England U18 Women Come From Behind to Topple Finland

In the second game of their Division B FIBA European Championships yesterday, England U18 Women came from behind to beat Finland 51-47.

Finland led by five at the half-time break but a pair of Renee Busch three pointers led to a third quarter rally from England, pulling themselves all the way back to take a one point lead into the fourth. England struggled to keep hold of the ball, totaling up 33 turnovers in the game.

Neither team could pull away in the final quarter meaning England held a two point lead with ten seconds to go. Temitope Fagbenle sealed the game making three of four free throws (leading the team with a double-double, 17 points and 15 rebounds). Jessica Hurd helped clear the glass with 11 defensive boards to go along with 12 points and Busch finished with 14 points.
