GB Senior Women Lose to Holland
Last night saw Tom Maher’s side lose in the first of two games in Holland, going down 72-62 to the home side.
Despite the return of Kim Butler and Natalie Stafford, GB struggled in the first half going down 34-23 by the half.
Maher rallied his side to make a big third quarter push but the home side were too much for GB in the fourth, closing out the game well and serving GB the defeat.
Head Coach Maher was not pleased with the loss:
“Unquestionably we will rebound from this performance because we didn’t do ourselves or the people we represent justice.
I’m really disappointed. Instead of trying to beat Holland in a co-ordinated manner we went for too many home run plays, and our defence was a severe disappointment.
Butler returned strong with 15 points and 9 boards whilst Julie Page added 9 rebounds however Stafford had a quiet night offensively.
GB will play Holland again this evening before heading to Israel for the final stage of their warm up games.
