Riders Win 6th Straight, BBL Recap 19/03/10

Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders vs Airwaves Plymouth Raiders
The Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders won their 6th straight yesterday with an 86-74 victory over the Airwaves Plymouth Raiders.

LaTaryl Williams led the way with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists whilst also shooting a blistering 10/15. Jason Johnson also had 18, 7 and 3. Drew Lasker has 21 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the Raiders whilst Anthony Martin also had 21.

Newcastle Eagles vs Worthing Thunder
The Newcastle Eagles held onto first place in the BBL Championship as they beat the Worthing Thunder 113-70 off the back of a huge 66 point second half.

Joe Chapman led the Eagles with 26 points, going 8/13 from three point range, Charles Smith had 25, whilst Lynard Steward didn’t miss a shot (6/6) for an uber-efficient 12 points and 11 rebounds. Reggie Bratton led Worthing with 25 points and was back up by a 16 point-13 rebound double double from Kadiri Richard.

Sheffield Sharks vs Worcester
The Sheffield Sharks ensured they kept pace with the Eagles at the top of the table with a 90-62 rout of Worcester Wolves yesterday.

Ryan Patton had 28 points (7 threes) and 6 assists to lead the Sharks, Mike Cook had 20, and Matthew Gorman had 18 points and 12 rebounds. Daniel Gilbert had 32 for Worcester, whilst Kastytis Normantas who impressed me over BUCS weekend had 6 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals.
