GB routed by Bosnia & Herzegovina

Great Britain were dominated 103-73 by Bosnia and Herzegovina in Ostend, Belgium on Saturday and have now lost their third consecutive warm up game heading into EuroBasket.

Bosnia were led by a 24 point and seven rebound performance from recent Utah Jazz addition Jusuf Nurkic and were in complete control from the jump, as they raced out to a 16 point lead after the first quarter.

From there they never looked back on their way to shooting 60% from the field, including hitting 9/18 from downtown, whereas the Brits struggled mightily and only managed to shoot 36% from the floor.

By the end of the third quarter, the Bosnians amassed a 32 point lead and a lot of the damage throughout the game was done on the inside as they outrebounded GB 47-30, while their tally of 46 points scored in the paint nearly doubled Britain’s points in the paint output of 24.

Myles Hesson and Amin Adamu were joint top scorers for GB with 12 points each whilst Akwasi Yeboah also added 11 points.

Four other Bosnians reached double figures in scoring along with Nurkic including Amar Gegic who dropped 16 points off the bench.

Box score.

Marc Steutel’s side will look to regroup in their next warm up game against Luka Doncic and Slovenia in Ljubljana on Tuesday before wrapping up their EuroBasket preparations against Estonia on Friday.
