GB final squad named for EuroBasket

Great Britain Head Coach Marc Steutel has named his final squad ahead of EuroBasket.

GB begin their campaign against Lithuania on Wednesday (27 August) before taking on Pool B hosts Finland.They will also compete against Sweden, current reigning world champions Germany, and Montenegro in the Tampere Deck Arena.

The squad is captained by Carl Wheatle who competes in his second FIBA EuroBasket.It will also be a second showing for Patrick Whelan, while the experienced trio of Myles Hesson, Gabriel Olaseni and Luke Nelson play in their third EuroBasket tournaments.

Steutel said: I’m absolutely delighted to name the final 12 players for the FIBA EuroBasket roster. We’ve had a really productive and competitive camp from day one with many different phases.We’ve appreciated everyone who has been able to come in and commit to our cause.”
