Quinn Ellis leads Trento to victory with game winning three

Quinn Ellis Winner

Quinn Ellis drilled a three pointer with less than a second on the clock for the third game winner of his career, in Aquila Basket Trento’s Lega Basket Serie A victory over Vanoli Cremona.

The game was locked up at 86 with 17.1 seconds to go when Trento put the ball in the Great Britain international’s hands.

With time expiring, Ellis created enough space to pull up and nail a three from the top of the key with 0.8 seconds left, as Vanoli’s ensuing last ditch attempt to tie from deep ultimately fell short.

The 22 year old guard recorded 13 points and five assists for the game, including hitting two out of four from beyond the arc, and is averaging 9.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists across 24 appearances in Lega Basket A this season as per Sofascore.

This past February, Ellis was named the Italian Cup Final Eight MVP after scoring 14 in the final and posting double-doubles in the quarters and semis, to play a pivotal role in Trento claiming their first ever Coppa Italia title.

British basketball fans will be hoping to see similar performances and moments from the Sheffield native when FIBA EuroBasket 2025 begins at the end of August, with Great Britain set to face Germany, Lithuania, Montenegro, Finland and Sweden in group phase play after being drawn in Group B.
