Quinn Ellis, who declared for the NBA Draft last month, received an invite to the NBA G-League Elite Camp in Chicago next week but will be unable to attend due to playoffs with his club side.

The G-League Elite Camp is a two-day event held in Chicago before the Draft Combine, providing an opportunity for prospects like Ellis to get in front of NBA decision-makers through competitive games and drills.

NBA teams vote for 75 players they’d like to see invited to the Draft Combine; the 78 players with the most votes got into the Combine, and then the next 44 get in to the G League Elite Camp.

This year’s camp will be held in Chicago May 11-12 and will be immediately followed by the Draft Combine (May 13-19).

At least a half dozen players typically parlay their performances into a Combine invite according to DraftExpress’ Jonathan Givony.

However, Trento’s playoff run will prevent Ellis from participating as they battle Olimpia Milano in the quarterfinals during that same window.

The 21-year-old guard from Sheffield declared for the 2024 NBA Draft as an early entrant after previously testing the waters in 2023.

Ellis averaged 8.9 points, 3.8 assists and 2.8 rebounds on 61.0 TS% in EuroCup action this season, including two game winners, before breaking his fifth metatarsal which saw him out for a 2 months weeks before returning in April and having an immediate impact in Legabasket games for Trento.

Ellis is expected to work out in front of several NBA teams in the United States after finishing his duties with Trento.
