USA Women to take on Germany in London

The USA Women’s National Team will play the German Women’s National Team at London’s O2 Arena on July 23, as part of the 2024 USA Basketball Showcase ahead of the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

It adds another hot ticket item to the USA Basketball Showcase in the capital that sees the USA Men’s National Team play South Sudan and Germany at O2 Arena on July 20 and July 22, respectively.

“USA Basketball is looking forward to adding our women’s national team to the USA Basketball Showcase in London,” said Jim Tooley, CEO, USA Basketball.

“Not only will playing Germany provide a great opportunity for our team, but it will highlight the growth of women’s basketball around the world as we prepare to defend our gold medal in Paris.”

It will mark the U.S. women’s first visit to London since winning the gold medal at the 2012 Olympics.  

Meanwhile, the GB men will also play South Sudan and the women against Germany in a pair of exhibitions.

“We are delighted that USA Basketball selected London as its final stop before competing at the 2024,” Chris Grant OBE, Chair, GB Basketball said.

“How wonderful it is that our passionate fans will have the opportunity to get close to some of the best players in the world! Just as USA Basketball is passing through London on its way to Paris, our ambition is that four years from now our GB teams will be touching down in the USA on our way to Los Angeles 2028.”

The USA women’s game versus Germany, which will tip off at 8 p.m. local/3 p.m. ET, will air live on FS1 in the United States.
