Quinn Ellis continues to have a breakout season with Aquila Basket Trento, hitting his second game winner of the year in the dying seconds in EuroCup action.
With the score tied at 67 and 4.2 seconds remaining, Trento inbounded to a cutting Ellis who zipped to the basket, double clutched in the air before finishing at the hoop with 0.9 seconds left as Aris’ hail mary from half court bounced off the back of the rim.
The 20-year-old finished with 10 points, four rebounds and five assists, as he is now averaging 9.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists and just short of a steal in 20 minutes per game across nine outings.
Five weeks ago, the guard from Sheffield had a 13-point, 10-assist double-double while knocking down a floater at the buzzer to give Trento a win over Lietkabelis.
This summer, Ellis declared for the NBA draft before withdrawing his name. He will become auto-eligible next year.
