Shaquille Walters, Gedi Juozapaitis sign for same team in Bulgaria

Shaquille Walters and Gedi Juozapaitis have both signed for Tunja Yambol in Bulgaria for the 2023-24 season.

The British duo are on the same team with Juozapaitis turning pro after a five-year college career, while it’s a second year overseas for Walters.

Juozapaitis averaged 15.4 points per game during the 2022-23 season at Maine having previously spent two years at Georgia Southern and two before at D2 school Flagler.

The 1998-born wing was the MVP at the 2015 Hoopsfix All-Star Classic in the Under-17 game and was named to the America East All-Conference Third Team earlier this year to add to his college accolades.

Meanwhile, Walters played in both Spain and Austria last season with spells at Oviedo and Oberwart in a rookie year as a pro.

The 25-year-old had his most productive year in college as a redshirt senior with averages of 11.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in his fourth year at Northeastern.

Yambol finished with a 9-21 record in Bulgaria’s top flight last season and have already begun their NBL campaign with Juozapaitis netting 18 points in an opening defeat.
