Former Bristol Flyer AJ Edu has turned heads at the FIBA Basketball World Cup while suiting up for host nation, the Philippines.
Edu, who came up through Swansea Storm before ending up with the Bristol Flyers/SGS Academy, has just graduated from NCAA Division 1 school Toledo and was a core part of the Philippines team at the World Cup that was playing in front of home fans.
He finished the tournament with averages of 8.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 blocks on 64% shooting, with his best performance coming against South Sudan with 12 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block.
The 6’10” big man has signed in Japan with Toyama Grouses for his rookie year.
