London Lions kept their perfect start in the EuroCup with an 87-99 win against Ukrainian side Prometey Slobozhanske, in Riga on Wednesday evening.

A slow start saw Lions trail by as many as 11 in the first quarter, before turning it on in the remaining three periods. Prometey did not go down without a fight, pulling back to within one in the final five minutes before back-to-back threes from Connor Morgan gave the Lions the cushion they needed to pull out the victory.

Matt Morgan was once again unstoppable, following his impressive game against Newcastle Eagles on Monday.

He scored 21 points for the Lions, adding 5 assists and 2 steals to his tally. Donte Grantham also had another good performance, securing a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Sam Dekker scored 17 points in his EuroCup debut this season following injury.

With the win, the Lions remain unbeaten in all competitions after 11 games (BBL, EuroCup).

The Lions’ next game in the EuroCup will be against Paris Basketball, October 24th, at the Cooper Box Arena, tip-off 7.30pm.
