Harriet Swindells will play basketball overseas for the first time after signing with Braunschweig in Germany for the upcoming season.
The former junior international finished a successful college career at NCAA Division 2 school Barry in 2022, and is now ready for the challenge of turning pro.
“I am really excited about this move to Germany,” Swindells told Hoopsfix. “This is a very professional organisation which is going to give me everything I need to be successful this season.
“My goals are to win basketball games and put up numbers. I have a huge role within this team and I’m ready to step up to the challenge – it’s definitely a great starting point in my career.”
Swindells averaged 10.6 points per game across 122 appearances in five years for Barry with a career best of 29 points coming in the 2019-20 campaign, in which the Blackburn native averaged 15.3 points.
The sharpshooting guard previously came through the Leicester Riders programme – earning MVP honours in the 2016-17 WEABL season, alongside minutes in the WBBL.
Braunschweig compete in the second division in Germany and finished last season with an 8-14 record.
