England Under-16 Women sweep 2023 Four Nations Tournament

England Under-16s swept the 2023 Four Nations Tournament with three wins from three in Dublin.

They sealed the tournament triumph with a decisive 73-61 victory over the hosts – and defending champions – Ireland on Thursday to back up wins over Scotland and Wales from the opening day.

Cristina Stanciuca’s side used a 20-8 second period as a platform for their third consecutive success with Ireland having also entered the game previously unbeaten.

Megan Verbeeten top scored with 18 points and was closely followed by 16 each from Ayla Habbal and Maisie Keyes as well as 15 for Adaora Dioramma.

On Wednesday, England had opened the tournament by beating Scotland 76-37 before enjoying a resounding 91-41 win against Wales as Verbeeten and Keyes combined for 39 points.

The Four Nations Tournament action continues with the Under-18 Women competing in Cardiff having claimed the inaugural title in 2022.
