Elliot Bailey has led Carleton to the U Sports Canadian National Championship, in what is being labelled arguably the best U SPORTS championship finals game of all time.

Bailey, a former Kent Crusader, finished with a career-high 21 points, nine rebounds, two assists and a steal in the double OT thriller that saw Carleton prevail 109-104 over St. Francis Xavier X-Men, for their fourth straight title (Bailey’s third), and 17th since 2003.

Bailey averaged 5.7 points and 5.9 rebounds on the season, with 14 starts in 22 games.

The win came in front of over 9,000 fans at the Scotiabank Centre, part of the contingent of a tournament record-breaking attendance of 40,092 over the three-day event.

The women’s team also won, making the Ravens the first university to win both titles during the same season since 1985.

Box score.
