Molly Lavin has revealed that she has committed to NCAA Division 1 school American University for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
The 2003-born forward was an integral part of the historic City of London Academy basketball side this year who had a perfect season in the WEABL as well as a league and playoff double in the WNBL D1.

“I am so excited and blessed for this opportunity,” Lavin told Hoopsfix. “I have worked so hard for it and for it to actually happen is a dream come true. I am also so grateful for all the support I have received especially from my family, coaches and teammates I really wouldn’t have gotten anywhere without them. I cannot wait to go out there and live my dream.
“I really enjoyed my visits to all the schools, but my one to American felt like the place where I fit best. Academics are also really important to me, so the education American University offers really helped me to make my decision.
“I am so excited to go and play at the next level against such high competition. I am also really looking forward to working with the coaching staff and playing with the team there, I am sure it is going to be a lot of fun.”
Lavin competed at the Hoopsfix All-Star Classic in 2021 and recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists in the Under-19 Women’s game. She will compete yet again later this month before making the move to Washington D.C.
