Kayne Henry named to OVC all-newcomer team

Kayne Henry has been named to the Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer team after his debut season of NCAA Division 1 basketball with Jacksonville State.

Henry, in his junior year after two years at JUCO, was named the league’s newcomer of the week four times during the regular season, becoming the first Gamecock to receive four conference weekly honours in a decade.

The Hoopsfix All-Star Classic alumnus tallied four double-doubles in his first season at Jacksonville State, and finished with averages of 10.8 points and 6.9 rebounds whilst leading Jacksonville State to their fourth consecutive OVC Tournament before suffering defeat in the first round.

Henry had career-highs of 23 points and 16 rebounds in January against Morehead State.
