Leicester Riders’ Rob Paternostro and Team Birmingham’s Steve Hansell have been selected to coach in the Hoopsfix All-Star Classic Class of 2019 game this Sunday in Brixton.
Paternostro, a 5-time BBL Coach of the Year, is fresh off three-peating the BBL Play-Off title with the Riders, being one of the most successful coaches in BBL history with 13 titles under his belt, meanwhile, Hansell, a legend of the British game and former England international, heads up the Team Birmingham Elite West Midlands programme that compete in NBL Division 3, picking up the North Coach of the Year in 2016-17.
Hansell will head up Team Black, whilst Paternostro will head up Team White.
“I feel honoured to be asked and excited to be a part of it,” Paternostro commented. “Sam Neter and Hoopsfix have always done a great job of bringing the British Basketball community together with this type of event.
“The roster for both teams look very strong and I’m looking forward to seeing all these talented young players play in one of England’s iconic basketball venues.”
Hansell added:
“I feel proud to be coaching in the Hoopsfix event this year it’s a fantastic event. It will be fun coaching the top talent in the land. Let’s have a great day!”
