Bradford bounced back in the second half after a slow start, using 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 steals from Richard Sulcs.
“We started well but then got outplayed for twenty minutes and I was pretty happy to go in only down eleven at the half,” Bradford Head Coach Mellor commented.
“Things didn’t get much better in the third but we managed to hang around enough and dug ourselves out again late on to finally get the momentum when it mattered.”
Emmanuel Clark was next with 18 points, also contributing 6 assists, whilst Fetske also recorded a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
For the hosts, Giannis Panaretakis matched Šulcs with 19 points whilst Hosana Kitenge contributed 17 points and Kyle Jimenez knocked down four triples for his 12 points.

Hemel were haunted by poor free throw shooting down the stretch, going 1-of-6 in the final 2 minutes to fall to defeat after twice having clawed back 13-point deficits.
“We know we have to finish at the basket better in open play than we did on Saturday,” said Hemel Coach Robert Youngblood. “And although I was pleased with how well we drew fouls and got to the free-throw line, overall we made only 52 percent (12/23) which is just not good enough at this level.”
Martelle McLemore and Prince Lartey led Thames Valley with 19-a-piece, whilst Abdoulaye Sylla had a monster 19 rebounds with his 14 points.
Blayne Freckleton had 23 to lead Hemel, Bode Adeluola added 17 and Levi Noel 15.

We struggled to find any scoring rhythm for 3 quarters but I was pleased with how our guys responded in the 4th defensively to spark a run that ultimately blew the game open for us.”
Robin Bedford was the only player in double figures for BA with 12 points.

“With Malcolm gone, they smelt blood and they went for the kill,” Derby Head Coach Matt Shaw said.
“We were down and they kept us down by not giving up and by keeping their foot on the gas which will bode well for them in the future.
“I thought we battled well for the first three quarters, but we lost our way in the last quarter. Prior to
that, I thought we had worked hard to stay with them and match their physicality, but it was
disappointing not to have been able to make it more competitive in the closing minutes.”
David Ulph had 29 to lead Liverpool.
Elsewhere, all other Division 1 clubs advanced, though not without scares. Barking Abbey got past Swindon Shock 93-82, behind 18 points from Ade Adebayo.

Solent Coach Guymon said: “It was a tough game for us today against a very talented D4 team. I thought for the most part we were very solid defensively, but we now need to refocus on our ball movement/spacing/execution offensively so that we are able to create higher percentage scoring options.
“I am pleased we are able to advance in the cup and secure 2 wins this weekend.”
Team Newcastle prevailed 79-70 over Myerscough College, using 28 points from David Hanson, as Sanmi Fajana led the young Myerscough side with 20.

“Good result for our team and we are happy to progress in the next round in the Cup,” Manchester Head Coach Aurimas Verbukas commented. “Not best defensive performance but we will take that, our team has a lot to learn, especially younger guys, but with leadership that is coming from our senior guys we will get better.
