Conner Washington has joined Naestved in Denmark having decided to leave Leicester Riders after six seasons at the club.
The 25-year-old was offered a new deal to stay with the BBL champions, but has opted to pursue an opportunity overseas.
“We will miss Conner – he has been tremendous for our club both on the court and off.” added Riders’ Head Coach Rob Paternostro.
“Conner talked to us when the season finished about his to desire to play abroad but we still tried to bring him back and are really disappointed that he has decided to leave.
“We respect his decision and wish him all the best. It has been awesome to work with him and to watch him grow and develop into the player and person he is today.”
Washington joined back in 2012 and won a total of nine trophies in his time with the Riders including the recent treble.
Last season, the point guard averaged 7.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists and was named to the All-Defensive and All-British BBL teams of the year.
Washington played in over 190 BBL league games with 983 points, 450 rebounds and 399 assists in total and recently represented Midnight Madness at the Quai 54 World Streetball Championship.
