GB have announced their final 12-player Under-20’s squad ahead of the European Championships in Eilat, Israel.
Chema Buceta has whittled his squad down from the initial 17-player list with GB heading out to Hungary and Greece for preparation games before their Division B campaign begins in Israel on July 8.

“We’ve had a very productive camp in Manchester,” said Buceta.
“A huge thanks to all the players for their hard work and commitment, especially the ones who have missed out on the final squad.
“Their contribution to the team was outstanding and pushed everyone to higher levels of performance.
“We now head to Hungary and Greece in good shape and eager to put in action all the things we’ve worked on in the camp.”
Half of the squad were based in the US last season with the other half, including captain Georgia Gayle, having plyed their trade in the WBBL.

Gayle along with co-captain Millie Stevens as well as Abigail Johnson, Gabby Nikitinaite and Jess Davies were part of the squad that competed at last summer’s European Championships.

The squad are due to face Hungary on Saturday before taking on Greece on Tuesday according to the respective federations with GB yet to confirm the schedule.
