England Under-18’s continued their winning run at the European Championships in Skopje, Macedonia, with an 81-64 victory against Belarus on Saturday evening.
Steve Bucknall’s side have now won their last four games and will finish the tournament with a game for ninth place tomorrow.
Nelson Boachie-Yiadom led the way with a 26-point haul along with seven rebounds, while Micah Savery-Richards contributed 13 points and Dan Akin and Carl Wheatle added 10 points apiece.
England used a 10-3 run to edge away in the first and would hold an 18-14 advantage by the end of the period. The lead reached double figures with a 9-2 start to the second, but after a rally from Belarus, the gap was cut to five at 39-34 heading into half-time.
Boachie-Yiadom scored 10 points in the third period as England stayed ahead and managed to extend their advantage to 61-53 at the end of the penultimate quarter.
Five more points from Boachie-Yiadom helped push his side further clear at the start of the fourth before an 8-0 run saw the lead peak at 19 points with England able to wrap up another convincing win.
England U18s’ final game takes place tomorrow (Sunday) at 3:30pm UK time as they battle Georgia in the 9th-10th playoff.
