Great Britain’s under-20s claimed a 78-58 victory over Poland in their first preparation game at the EuroHopes Tournament in Girona, Spain.
Head Coach Douglas Leichner saw his side hold their opponents to just seven points in the final quarter as they powered their way to an opening win.
Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye top scored with 15 points from the bench, while Josh McSwiggan netted three triples on his way to 14 points and Kavell Bigby-Williams recorded a double-double of 10 points and 14 rebounds as well as adding three blocks.
GB made a strong start to open up a 17-11 advantage at the end of the first, but were pegged back in the second to go into the interval up by three at 41-38.
The defence let up just 20 second half points to take control of the game and make a winning start to their preparations having trimmed their roster to 13 players ahead of the trip.
