Aaron Geramipoor will compete in the Finals of the LEB Gold playoffs in Spain after Ourense completed a 3-0 series win in the semi-finals, on Friday.
The 22-year-old didn’t miss a shot for his 7 points in the series-clinching 77-59 win on the road, to help his side advance with their seventh consecutive post-season victory.
Geramipoor joined the second-tier club in January having impressed in the third division with Canarias Basketball Academy, where he averaged over 14 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
The 6’11” forward has averaged 12.9 minutes per game in his time with Ourense, shooting at 58% from the field in contributing 4.6 points per game, as well as 3.6 rebounds from the bench.
Ourense finished the regular season in second with a 20-8 record and entered the playoffs as the top seeds with LEB Gold’s winners earning automatic promotion.
The finals begin next week following the culmination of the second semi-final – with Geramipoor hoping to join fellow Brit Matthew Bryan-Amaning in winning a playoffs title this season.
