Leicester Riders have rung the changes despite their fine start to the season by ditching American guard Derrick Roland.
The 26-year-old, dropped out from the starting line-up in favour of a fully-fit Tyler Bernardini, was averaging only 10 points per game in his first season in the BBL.
““It was a difficult decision to release Derrick, but after taking a close look at our team we are looking for something different,“ head coach Rob Paternostro said.
“From day one Derrick was a model professional who worked hard and played unselfishly, but we believe that we needed to improve our team in certain areas and that’s why we made the move.â€
It is understood the Riders have already lined up a replacement.
Surrey United have signed Lithuanian forward Donatas Visockis, released recently by Worcester. It is expected that the strugglers will also formally free Trevor Setty, BBL sources told MVP.
