With the sixth week of the college basketball season completed, we take a look at all the top performing Brits in NCAA Division 1 in our last round-up of 2014.
Alex Young led UC Irvine to a tournament victory over Green Bay with 18 points and 8 assists to claim the Most Outstanding Player award in the Championship game.
The junior guard produced a clutch performance with the final six points including the game-winner. Young also scored 6 points in the 55-47 win over Bradley in the Las Vegas Classic, the day before.
Young’s team-mate Luke Nelson contributed 4 points and 4 assists to the tourney win, having made his return to the side with 9 points against Bradley.
Gabe Olaseni had 4 points and 6 rebounds in a loss for Iowa last weekend, before following that with 9 points and 3 blocks in their 80-70 win over North Florida.
Lehigh survived an epic triple OT clash with an 84-81 victory, with Jesse Chuku contributing 7 points to the win against Arizona State.
Former Manchester Magic centre Jack Crook led Seattle to a 66-47 win with an all-round display of 9 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. The junior also had 4 points and 5 boards in an earlier defeat, with Theo Turner scoring 7.
Will Saunders scored his 6 points from beyond the arc and added 2 rebounds as Charleston Southern went down 75-54 at Colorado State.
Also, freshman Kingsley Okoroh had 3 points, 2 rebounds and a block in a 68-56 loss for Cal Bears.
