Brits Abroad – Week 4 Round-up

Our latest round-up sees a trio of Brits make debuts for their new teams while one, maybe two, have played their last.

Here’s a quick re-cap:

The GB forward added 13 points and four rebounds in the 101-68 loss for Bremerhaven (3-3). Matthew Bryan-Amaning was not in action this weekend and has since had his contract mutually terminated by Ludwigsburg.

Orlan Jackman led Iserlohn (4-1) to another win with 20 points and 7 rebounds during their 86-75 success while Rob Gilchrist grabbed four rebounds and added two points as Karlsruhe dropped to a 2-3 mark in the German Pro-B division with Clayfell Harris and Itzehoe not in action.

In LEB Gold, Joe Hart enjoyed his first win with Penas Huesca (1-3) finishing with 2 rebounds and 3 assists in 9 minutes. Mo Soluade‘s tally of 16 points and 4 assists couldn’t inspire a first win for Clinicas Rincon (0-4) as they were edged out 66-64. Meanwhile, Ben Allison saw 7 minutes of action from the bench and added 5 points in a 72-71 defeat for Ourense (2-2).

Ben Mockford produced an all-round display of 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists to help Caceres (3-1) to another victory. Aaron Geramipoor had 14 points and 7 rebounds in a fourth straight defeat for Canarias (0-4) with Tom Ward adding four points.

In Greece, Ogo Adegboye made his full debut for Aris (2-0) and contributed 12 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in their second league victory of the season. Dzaflo Larkai suffered two further defeats with Yokohama (3-5) in Japan whilst recording another double-double (14pts/12rbs) in the first loss of two losses against the league leaders.

Fahro Alihodzic scored 4 points to go along with 6 rebounds as Kaposvari (1-2) fell to an 84-67 defeat while Ryan Richards added 1 point on debut for the winless Kormend (0-4). Ashley Hamilton helped Cherkasy (3-1) to two victories over the week with displays of 13 points/9 rebounds and 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

Devon van Oostrum only saw a single minute of court-time as Cibona (1-4) suffered a heavy defeat. It has been reported that DVO may face the cut from the Croatian side. His older brother Nigel van Oostrum started and added 2 points and 2 rebounds as Den Helder (2-3) saw their winning run come to an end.

Liam Potter managed 2 points and 4 rebounds in 13 minutes as Naestved (2-2) lost out in an overtime battle during the week. Jack Stannard was not in action with Aalborg enjoying a rest week as they prepare to gain their first win of the season.
